Graham County Sanitation Sites Closing July 1

Two sanitation centers in Graham County — Bear Creek and Snowbird — will close effective July 1. The East Buffalo and Stecoah sites will operate four days a week with new hours: Tuesdays 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Thursdays 10:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m.–5 p.m., and Sundays 1–5 p.m. The main location remains open 24 hours. County officials say the changes follow public input and aim to maintain dependable service while reducing expenses.

McCaysville and Copper Basin Independence Day Celebrations & Fireworks

The McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee area will host Independence Day celebrations and a fireworks show on July 3 starting at 9 p.m. Excellent viewing spots are available in downtown areas, and visitors can arrive via the Firework Express train from Blue Ridge. It’s a classic community gathering for the Copper Basin.
